Isis is the archetypal mother giving birth to Horus. Her emblem is a throne. For some barely understandable reasons Isis is confused with Isis-Hathor in numerous museum examples, including in the British Museum, the MET and Le Louvre. Position on mummies: upper torso. Highly common amulets of Isis were made in various materials since the New Kingdom, Ramesside Period
