Flowers, fruits, or leaves have amuletic significance: as growing elements they were associated with the concepts of new life and resurrection for flowers that close at night1. As for the nefer amulet their use was restricted to collar pendants. They are in faience, flat back, with usually two attached suspension loops and have very delicate colours. They were only produced during the Amarna Period in numerous examples. Reconstructed collars have faience lotus-shaped terminals2
